Ten places, all on foot.

The tram, the ferry and the market are about 4 minutes from the front door. Times are measured along the drawn route at 80 metres a minute.

  1. Trams run to the city centre every few minutes. The stop is under cover and has a real time display.

  2. A covered market for fresh produce, fish and bread, open from Thursday to Sunday.

  3. Water taxis and the river ferry call here, with a pontoon on the river side of the promenade.

  4. A wide, level walk and cycle path along the north bank, lit at night and shaded by plane trees.

  5. The harbour edge to the west, with benches facing the water and an open lawn used for outdoor film nights.

  6. A six screen cinema with a bar overlooking the harbour, and a small gallery on the ground floor.

  7. A full line supermarket with a pharmacy and a bakery, open from 6 am to midnight.

  8. Lawns, a playground and a dog off-lead area on the east side of the precinct.

  9. The main interstate and regional station, with the airport coach and the metropolitan train lines.

  10. The western end of the city’s main business street, reached on foot through the station concourse.

Getting to the city.

Trams stop at Meridian Walk every few minutes and reach the city centre in about a quarter of an hour. Southern Cross Station, for regional and interstate trains and the airport coach, is a twelve minute walk. The river ferry and water taxis call at the wharf below the building.
